PITZ is arisen due to the rebuilding of an existing kitchen and cantine building. The existing building was dismantled down to the steel structure and completely rebuilt. The cellar was transformed by digging free a fully lit workshop and laboratory floor. It is accessed over a bridge the upper area.

A special focus was placed the the development of the PITZ logo. This was achieved by relief-styled cutting into the rendered facade. The second plaster level is developed, analogue in colour and structure to the outer level, so that the text becomes legible, merely by the casted shadows.

The upper facade area is constructed as a rear-ventilated rendered facade, in which the mounting plates are fitted to an aluminium/wood subconstruction and coated with a coloured plaster. The homogeneous plaster structere underlines the block-type character of this building detail.

The lower, glazed area, is constructed as a rear-ventilated profile-glass facade. This is, independant of the various openings of the existing building structure, built in front of the building structure and links the various new and old openings to create a unity.

The interplay of the various overlaps creates varying grades of transparency and shades of colour.

The facade varies, depending on weather, time of day and use of the inside rooms.

The walls of the foyer are decorated with an abstract PITZ logo. The foyer and seminar rooms can be united to a multifunctional area by means of flexible room dividers.

The building contains, beside offices, seminar and training rooms, also workshops, laboratories and storage space. The rentable units are flexibly separable.

The building shines from inwards into the surroundings at night. The contours of the letters on the rear level are illuminated with glass fibre light chains to increase legibility.
